MC Ry operates about 150 miles of track in the Twin cities area. They also switch cars off Amtrak at the former Midway Station. Their A yard is just a short walk up Transfer road, and I was able to get these photos during our two and 1/2 day stay on private car Mount Vernon at the former Midway Station. Great fleet of GE locomotives. Photos taken 7/22-7/24.

These are terrific shots of really great locomotives in action. Thanks for sharing!
Great pictures, Bill. Can hardly wait to see the rest from your adventure.
Boy you've taken some fantastic shots on your journey.
The Minnesota Commercial: where old Alcos go to live again.
Not sure, but looks like maybe a U-boat in there, too.
They have, in the past, operated quite a large fleet of Alcos. Not sure if they still do . I believe all the locos in these photos, show older model GE's in action. I don't see any Alcos there.

Sorry guys, my diesel spotting skills gone downhill, along with other chunks of my memory.
Not that long ago they were running an ex-CP "Cat Powered" M636 on their road trains with ex-SF SF30Cs and ex-BN C30-7s. A lone RS-27, of Green Bay & Western heritage was being on locals and switch jobs. You tube has plenty of video.
