I see a seller on Ebay offering two different Modern era boiler fronts. I am wondering if there are actually any differences between the two. The part numbers are:

8306-024   783 Semi-scale Hudson Boiler front.
736-24       Berkshire boiler front.

I thought they were the same. I've looked at the seller's photos, and nothing is jumping out at me. Maybe the location and/or thread size for the mounting screw? (Edit - checked manual - mounting screw size is the same)

Thanks.

This can be pretty hard to detect in an eBay ad, but an original 736 boilerfront will have a small convex lens in the front of the headlight tube.  (It looks a little like a miniature magnifying glass.)  The 8306 boilerfront has a something resembling a short Lucite rod inside the headlight tube instead of an actual lens.  Although this difference is often not obvious when looking at an eBay photo of the front of a boilerfront, the presence or absence of this rod can sometimes be seen in photos that show the back of the boilerfront.
