Hello and greetings from the UK! I am one of the few modern Lionel user in the UK. To send any loco back nto the US for repair costs a forune in shipping so any help would be much appriated.

I bought this loco new from Legacy Station. It has sat on some upowered trck for some time; now when I apply power to the track it immediately powers up with trainsounds but is totally unreponsive to commands from my remote. If I use the Lionel app the app finds the loco but again it will not resond at all.

IE It will not move and no whistle, chuff or bell...nothing. It will noit run or do anything if I try to run it in conventional mode using the transformer

I have checked the handrails [antenna] and all good. It has not been dropped or otherwise interferred with. Could the board have gone bad? If possibly then it would be much cheaper to order a new board and fit it but thats a bit of a stab in the dark. I have tried reprogramming the loco but no luck.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!! Regards Charles

Hi, let me ask the dum questions first. Are all switches in proper position? If so have you checked and reseated the boards in engine?  Next check to see if pickup rollers are connected in engine?  If you have another legacy steamer try switching out tender to see if tender responses. If so it’s the engine only and tender boards are ok.
