Hi folks,

I am 100% sure that I have used the improper words to describe the two types of couplers, but I think you get the drift.

Is one type generally regarded as less likely cause a derailment of the cars than the other?

The reason I ask is, that I have several old school, all metal, Lionel cars with couplers affixed to the trucks, and they seem much more likely to cause a derailment (when going throughs sharp curves, or back to back opposite curve sections) than my cheap plastic Lionel cars with the couplers attached to the underside of the frame (so long as I put weight in the cheaper cars.)

All observations or comments are appreciated.

Thx,

Mannyrock
