I'm hoping someone has already tried this challenge. I'd like to use original Lionel trestles for an upcoming layout mod. Is there any way to attach the atlas track to the trestles? Perhaps cut strips of wood to slide in the slots of the trestle to which the track would attach?
Also, is it possible to run an O gauge train directly under the trestle kinda like the old O & HO identical sets in the 50's? My trestles are packed under a mountain of stuff, so I haven't had the chance to dig 'em out to check. I'm thinking there's probably not enough room with the angled legs.
Alternatively, any graduated trestles available that would straddle the tracks like modern freeway double deck arrangements?
I just really don't want to have to cut a board as a roadbed hence the open trestle thought.
