I just got this engine yesterday. Unpacked it today and it has broken detail parts.

The little eyelets that hold the coupler cut bar are broken off flush with the casting. Parts are not available and it appears they were broken off in packing.

I did not find them in the box. Any ideas ?

If it's brand new - send it back.

If it's used, or you don't want to return it, you could make the eyelets out of piano wire or metal guitar string maybe.  I find when curving or looping metal it helps to wrap it around something a bit smaller than the target size, do several loops and then cut off the extra after you have it "set".  Obviously you will probably have to heat treat it.  Another option might be a donor shell from the big auction site.

I contacted the selling dealer, it is new, he told me to contact MTH.  According to their web site these parts are not available. I can try the bay. I would send it back but i don't think he wants me too.

Is it "New" as with factory warranty? Or "New as in many years old" stock?

"No parts for sale" doesn't always mean no parts available for warranty repair.
