MTH 33-1038-1 Repair send out to repair center or MTH?

If you get some sounds an than they die, I would check speaker wire for continuity issues especially under heat shrink at plug.  I would also check for a bad speaker.  I can do repairs, e-mail in profile,  G

I have a 2-8-0 from a starter set that does the same thing. Power it up, the sound starts for 2 or 3 seconds, and then deaf silence. You're not alone.

However, I run this engine with 2 or 3 others at the same time, so one without noise isn't a big deal. Not a big deal, but agreeably annoying.

I would be curious as to the cause, I find it interesting that it only occurs on start up after a few minutes of dead track, and it occurs regularly. The first place I will check when I get into it is the proto battery. I would think a continuity issue would be less predicable.

Here is an update to my 12-20 posting...
For the first time I powered up my engine in command. Sounds worked fine- no die out in 3 seconds. Go figure...
Seems to me that speaker continuity isn't the case on this particular engine.
