Some might remember I upgraded this MTH 44 tonner to BlueRail and battery a while back.  @BOB WALKER was nice enough to provide me with the new Blunami 2200 to make another upgrade.

While the 2200 is typically meant for HO or S gauge, this 44 tonner is small enough to work with this card.

The sounds are awesome and the Blunami interface on the APP is better than the BlueRail interface from a CV perspective.

I am anxiously awaiting the O scale version due out this year from Soundtraxx.

Nice work.  Blunami with battery power looks very promising.  Speaking as someone who has DCS & TMCC in 3-rail and DCS in HO & N, I see the new technology solving a lot of problems, especially on larger layouts.

Still would like to see a dedicated controller other than a phone/tablet as an option.  I'm in too deep with what I already have, but hope that others can jump in and enjoy themselves.

Ron do you think one could use a HO railpro card and have it do the same as bluerail? In the  44 toner ?

Probably so.  With advice from @BOB WALKER, I put an HO Blunami in my 44 toner.  I would probably wire the motors in series however.

You will probably want to take a look at the RP board specs and verify.

Ron,

How big is the battery?  I didn't see it in the video.

Pretty cool!

Dave,

While I would love to put a battery in the engine, this one was just a little tight.  So I but the battery in the transfer caboose.  Maybe I'll try a small one some day.   Thanks for asking.

This is an old picture when the engine was BlueRail.  That board is gone now and the Blunami is in the engine.  It is an 11.1v 3.5Ah LiIon battery.

Ron,

I have gone to the point of getting an iPhone and have the app working. I now have the 2200 installed in an S gauge Trainmaster, got most everything where I want it but, I have inadvertently inverted the direction control and can't figure how to get back where forward is forward in analog. Might you be able to steer me in the right direction, confused.

Thanks

Try CV29 = 2

Also, check speed settings for Direction to be Normal.

Hi Ron,

I went the easy way and reversed the wires to the motor, doing that helped me to get things running, the installation is now complete, thanks to help from the Soundtrax support staff. I was surprised at the way support got back to me with answers and suggestions of things to do, a little different than dealing with some major train manufacturers. Thank you for your help, I see more Blunamis in my future.
