1) The new MTH Wi-Fi units shipped and have arrived at various dealers on Friday (12/18/15). I picked mine up and connected it and began having some issues.
2) I called MTH on Monday regarding questions I had and the after pressing the prompts it said that support was available Monday - Friday from 12 noon to 5 PM. I waited and after 20 minutes a female answered to tell me that technicians were only available Tuesday to Thursday, 12 noon to 5 PM. I requested that they change the message on their answering machine so others will not wait a long time to be told that Mondays/Fridays are not good.
3) I called after 12 noon on Tuesday, waited again and then got transferred but had to wait about 20 minutes until the only tech working this week answered. When I told him that I had questions regarding the new Wi-Fi he stated that he had to be honest and that he received minimum training on the units. He said that he probably would not be able to help me and he could not. He suggested speaking to the expert in Michigan however informed me that the "expert" had to take vacation time this week or lose it, so he was unavailable.
4) He transferred my call anyway and you guessed it, no one could answer my questions with any degree of satisfaction.
Moral of the story:
Thank goodness for O Gauge forum and people like Barry since many of my questions are being answered here as more individuals post issues that they are having. I'm glad that the Wi-Fi units are available and expect "growing" pains but when MTH plans to release a new product, one week before Christmas, and then are not having individuals available to assist customers like me is really not a very smart move on their part. Just my two cents and Merry Christmas to all!
