How do I get the chattering to stop using DCS?
It's a neat thing to do sometimes but not day-to-day operation.
Thanks!

Go to the sound menu and then to the cab chatter sub-menu. Turns cab chatter on and off.
Select the engine so it is displayed on the top line.
Press Menu, Sounds, scroll to Cab chatter = off, press soft key S1.
Exit menues, you will have no cab chatter.
Alternately you can reduce the volume for those sounds exclusively So you only hear them if very close. They normally only play when the engine sits still for a minute anyway.
The cab chatter gets old after a while, but it's a great source for pranking an unsuspecting spouse. Charge the batteries in the middle of the night using a powered track and pretend you don't hear anything. Great fun!
I've got the DCS Commander...
I should have stated that fact? I didn't see any menus.
Thanks!
My assumption was that you were using the full DCS with TIU and Remote, etc. I don't have any experience with the DCS Commander (as opposed to the DCS Remote Commander), but I'm sure others here will chime in.

Yes, I too do not like cab chatter as out train watching we don't hear the cab talk, only the engine sounds and wheels screech.

If your DCS Commander looks like this...
...then you don't have a menu button. If you have a friend with DCS you can turn off cab chatter with their system following Russell's instructions and it will stay off.
That's what I have Ted. I know it's pretty basic but I just got into "O" gauge and am deciding which way to go.
Thanks for the good advice.
