Al,
If the diesels have same code how will the DCS separate the 2 engines?
When a PS2 or PS3 engine is added to a DCS Remote, DCS is able to identify the engine based upon several factors, which go beyond the engine's name on it's PS2 or PS3 board.
Further, if you ever do encounter an issue when attempting to add two or more identical engines to a DCS Remote (or a DCS Application), use the following workaround, which appears on page 175 of The DCS Companion 3rd Edition and also on page 191 of The DCS WiFi Companion 2nd Edition:
Fortunately, there's a way around this problem. Proceed as follows:
- Delete from the DCS Remote all occurrences of any engines that DCS may suspect are identical to an engine to be added.
- Add the first of these DCS engines to the DCS Remote and then do a Factory Reset on it. This will also delete it from the DCS Remote.
- Repeat the previous step for all of the other DCS engines that DCS may consider to be identical to the first one.
- Add the first of the DCS engines again. Regardless of what DCS ID# the DCS engine is assigned when it adds, change the DCS ID# to something else.
- Repeat the previous step for all of the other DCS engines.
