Can anyone tell me if the gear on the MTH or Railking motor be pulled off with puller and installed on another motor along with the flywheels ? Thanks Joe

You can pull the flywheel and gears, thought my experience getting the gear off is spotty. If the other motor already has a flywheel, I'd just use that. Sometimes heating and/or cooling the gear helps to get it off, but it'll be a struggle without the right tools.
John, I am going to use a brake terminal puller. Of course puller is going to be cut down to use. Thanks Joe
If the motor it is coming off is bad, cut he shaft or punch it out and not worry about motor.
As far as getting the other worm off a good motor, you can cut the worm length wise with a dremel without cutting shaft. It will come off easier.
That way all you need to worry about is pressing it on with out bending a shaft. G
For all the work that is going to require and run the risk of bending the armature shaft, then it won't work anyway, wouldn't just be easier to replace the motor assembly. Most MTH motors with the flywheel and gear shaft are around 25.00.
Chuck, that's always my first thought.
The reason for putting the gear on another motor is because I don't have the clearance so I have to use a shorter motor so the shell will fit above motor. I am putting a Williams E60 shell on a MTH U30 chassis.
