Does MTH use the same can motors in all their diesels and electrics?
Can I use the cans in a RAILKING diesel in a GG-1( also RAILKING).
I'm sure everyone but me knows the answer, but I don't have a clue.

I don't have a clue either, but some of them interchange. After two decades of daily non- stop running the motor bearings tend to get sloppy. I have been able to swap motors on such units.
Some are different.
I tried to swap in a motor on my Big Boy and the worm gear was a different length.
The actual motor looked the same tho.
No, the worm gear, flywheel diameter, and the size of the motor may be different. Normally RK Diesel have the same size can motor, and premier have the larger can motor; but you still have to match up the gear. G
The big issue is typically the length and diameter of the worm gear, I've run across a number of variations, somethings very subtle and hard to spot.
