Just received word that MTH as cancelled item # 11-70062 '#203 Armored Motor car'. Not the set, just this one item. (Whatever it was).

That's the add-on car to the LCT Armored Car Set which is currently scheduled to ship March 2012.

Well, as mentioned above, they're still producing the main 3-car set. The cancellation is only for an add-on car.

Correct, the engine + two cars.
The MTH site still says shipping "MARCH 2012."

Very soon, I imagine, since a production model is already featured on the MTH Facebook site.
I just received an e-mail from MTH. They now say it will be sometime in May.

Entirely possible. These days, one should NEVER count on a firm delivery date for any of this stuff. Best to just treat it as a "pleasant surprise" if/when it does show up, and to play with one of the multitude of other toys in the meantime.
