The club has a set of Amtrak Amfleet cars, 20-6556, that really have a very noticeable wobble when rolling down the track. Initial thought was possibly a bent axle or two but after a little more investigation and comparing the wheel gauge to a freight truck the Amtrak was as much as one millimeter narrower between the flanges.
What should the proper dimension be,+/-, ?
Where should the dimemnsion be measured , outside edge of wheel set or inside edge between flanges ?
