MTH PS-1 4-6-0 G-5 Upgrade to PS-32

Nice clean installation.  It's good to know I'm not the only one that it takes a lot more time to stuff all the parts into small engines.

I live for stuff like Challengers and Allegheny upgrades, lots of real estate.

Very nice installation. I can certainly see where these conversions would take quite a while to complete. It's also good to have all you knowledgeable folks here on the forum and your willingness to provide help for others too!

Thanks for sharing the photos G.  From your post I imagine the 4-4-2 has a similar arrangement.  Do you know what the gear ratios are on these models?  Are the gear ratios of various MTH steam loco models posted somewhere?  (I know they are embedded in the locos' "personality files.")  Thanks!!

That PS1 G5 was one that I bought on the spot at a local dealer when first released as she had a nice whistle!

Job well done! Just a bit curious as to why you didn't go with the split steam boards, you know one in the tender and one in the boiler as that way would only need a 6 wire tether?

These are the third and fourth engines that George either repaired or upgraded for me in recent weeks. The first two run great and from thee pictures, I am certain these will too. Looking forward to getting back home and running them. I highly recommend his services.

Bill, George would not send it back to you unless it was perfect.   Only one way exists to do any job.  That would be the right way.  George does good work.  Enjoy.
