MTH Railking Proto Sound 3 Santa Fe 4-6-0 Drawbar Disconnecting

Hello,

I have a MTH Railking Proto Sound 3 Santa Fe 4-6-0 steam engine. When I run this engine, sometimes the wireless drawbar connecting the locomotive to the tender disconnects. When it does, the engine jerks, the sounds go out, and lights and smoke go on and off uncontrollably. I turn off the power and re attach it and it is good for another few minutes. Does anyone know if there is a way to make the drawbar connect more stable so it does not disconnect? If not, that's ok. Have a good day!

When connecting, lay the locomotive on its side and make sure you connect it until you here a soft snap.

if still a problem use a small plastic tie to keep it connected or get a new drawbar from your local dealer.

get a small piece of soft vinyl tubing that fits the post tight and push it on, it will stay as long as you want. I bought 1 foot of this at the local hardware store. I got this idea few years ago from this forum, works great.
