MTHs has just released a statement on PS3. I'm inclined to think some proofreading may be needed. Why does it come with batteries?

Now i am curious
It doesn't have batteries. It's a typo.
One of many!
Barry, it also says not all sound files will be availble for some engines, is that correct?I can't believe MTH would do that.
it also says not all sound files will be availble for some engines,
I have no "inside knowledge", however, it makes sense to me.
Why would you expect that any sound file will work properly with any particular engine? MTH can't prepare for every engine you might plan to upgrade.
I have to agree with you on that but i was hoping sound files would be available for my PS-1 steam locomotives all of which are premier engines.
I expect that just about all of the MTH PS1 engines will have available upgrade sound files.
That statement could use a technical edit.
If you follow what has been said here, you will have accurate information.
PS-3 can load any PS-2 3V or PS-3 sound file. So most engines are covered, but if you were trying to use a PS-3 file and that engine was not remade yet in PS-3 you won't have a PS-3 file. Same for other manufacture engines that MTH has not made. K-Line Tank engine as an example. You can always load a similar type engine though. Camel back as example for Tank engine. Or I had a customer that lover the Climax sound set, so I used that in the Tank engine conversion.
I just recently repaired a Premier Y3 with PS-32 and I installed the latest PS-3 Sound file into the engine. I was able to get proper lights and gained the quillable whistle for the customer. I will post details separately. G
Thanks for the info gentlemen, the more i read the more informed and educated i become. This forum is the best thing i have ever discovered.
Good info George. Sometimes close counts. Not many people exist that can listen to a sound file and say that goes or does not go with the engine it is in.
