MTH Republic Steel Boxcar...Back Story? Prototype? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Been away from the hobby for a few years...looking at old MTH catalogs online...love this boxcar....Does anyone know if this MTH Hi Cube Boxcar is prototypical? Did it really exist? Just wondering about the "back story" of it... where was Republic steel operating?

The boxcar is from the car shops on Fantasy Island.

Republic Steel was located in Youngstown, Ohio.

Thanks Rusty...that was a funs show...ABC Network I believe...So Republic Steel was real and MTH has taken much artistic liberty with the model...
