Has anyone had a chance to play with the new santa fe imperial northern? After playing with it for several hours i must say the engine vol sounds are very low. The whistle is nice and loud but the chuffing and special sounds are low.

I have the same issue with Lionel K-4 Tuscan red model. The whistle, crew talk, and chuffing are all low volume. I Have the sound turned up high.

Welcome to the "wonderful" world of PS3. Every PS3 engine I have ever heard is quieter than its PS2 equivalent.
For an MTH PS 2 locomotive, do a "Factory Reset."

If this is a legacy loco you have two different volume adjustments via the legacy remote. AUX1 vol up,vol up,vol up.... or AUX1 vol up, AUX1 vol up, AUX1 vol up.........
Change the chuff rate to a 1 or 2 - if you have not tried that already. My new PS3 Northern seems louder at higher speeds with the low chuff rates.
Thanks Rick, Yes, it is a Legacy. I will try the Aux 1 . I turned the volumn knob in the tender as far as I could.
Appreciate the help.
Exact same issue here.
My Hiawatha has the same problem, no volume this old guy needs HIGH VOLUME PLEASE. If it just needs a bigger speaker I would love to know, I pop one in it.
