Looking for your insight on this set. Looks like fun so I'm thinking about buying a set maybe. I've only seen the green UP and orange Amtrak sets available however MTH website shows others. I'm wondering if the sounds have any special crew dialog. Thanks!

I ave the UP (green) set and I like it a lot. The PFA sounds are unique and one of the few that are intended to play while the engine is moving.
The level of detail is great and the lighting is unique.
I had pre-ordered the Northern Pacific set but it was cancelled due to lack of orders. I think after the first run it had run its course.

Bill T,
So you were the other guy that pre ordered the NP sprayer set, wish like heck they would not have cancelled on us! I really wanted one.

What about pulling power, could you add another 3 or 4 cars?
I've never tried to do so, however, I don't see why it couldn't haul a few more cars.
Mth shows there was a black NS powered and dummy set, anyone know if it was produced?
Westinghouse,
Not been produced as far as I know, if there is one I want it!

I don't think so...or at least I've never seen one and I've been looking for a long time. I have the UP and the Amtrak ones and they are fun sets
I have the Amtrak Set and it's a big laughable hit with visitors. The engineer talks about seeing railfans and giving them a blast of the horn to warn them of his approach. I also took the last tank car truck off and replaced it with an MTH Flashing ETD. Looks great.
Here are a few pics of the project as some of the pieces I'm going to use have arrived. This is a rough mock up. The smoke unit's ( 3 ) and high volume fan have not arrived yet but when they do, they will be hidden in a trailing boxcar and only the connecting piping will be visible. I'll be using brass tubing to create the piping and linking the piping together with solder. The joints from box car to flat car will be tubes from the Lionel tank train set.

1.14.16 Update
Since starting this thread I have located and purchased the UP weed Sprayer set from Pegasus Hobbies in Montclair, Ca - this hobby shop has been a challenge as I paid them with a money order over 3 weeks ago and have still not received the product. They tell me it will be sent out as soon as the money order clears their bank ( HUH? ) anyway I could go on about this but that can wait till I get the actual product to make sure it is as they described ( nothing broken and in like new working order ). I have also purchased an undecorated Atlas O Steam Era boxcar that matches the UP weed sprayer, an HO fuel refinery for kit bashing some hoses, a doghouse from a Lionel work caboose and various electronics for the smoke units. I will add photos of these later. What im really excited about is the paint. Upon my investigating, I did not find anyone whom makes UP MOW green paint so heres what I did;
1. went to ACE hardware and found an interior color that perfectly matches my Atlas UP MOW green tank cars - Brand - Benjamin moore / color - return to paradise.
2. Gave paint sample to my automotive paint rep.
3. they custom matched the color and put in in an aerosol can for easy application.
What's left to do is scuff and shoot all my pieces! the color is spot on so I will take photos of before, during and after application. I'm really excited for the results. If this is successful, I will have other colors made for my other cars such as Westinghouse blue and GEVO HYBRID blue /green!!
here's some pics of paint sample and mixed color.

heres a recent vid I made with the UP MOW green freight cars I had the paint matched to. You will also see the Atlas O undecorated Boxcar.
Great video, like the little one looking under the couch. I think you need to add 1 or 2 more engines. Really dig the Westinghouse engines.

He was having fun for sure! My O gauge bucket list is almost full- only need to locate a few more engines. MTH Westinghouse sd24 #12, Atlas Maersk #146, Atlas EMD Demo #6 and all the MTH Pan Am gp60's and both of MTH's Westinghouse caboose's. Once I get them all, I plan to make a special video about them. But as we all know, locating stuff can take time. I can't wait to get this project finished though- hopefully in 2 weeks if Pegasus hobbies ever ships my set I bought!
Cool project!!
I love the flat cars and the sorayer set you created. I must have one!!! Is it possible for you to provide a parts list so I could make one....I know it might be proprietary information but it looks so cool. Your not interested in making another set are you?!?! You can email me directly if you like....my handle is an AOL address. Great looking set up for sure. I have the UP green set and it's great looking and the sounds are awesome! Would love to get more tank cars and a few other pieces even if they are homemade.
