I was just wondering if you knew where and how to go about purchasing one, or are they not on sale yet?
Thanks

They are not yet available for sale - the MTH web site currently indicates a shipping date of March 2015.
However, you can put in a preorder now (part number 50-1034) with any MTH dealer.
What do I need to operate my trains with WiFi? I need MTH WiFi module and the TIU. Correct? And, it will run my PS2 and PS3 engines. Correct? Also, I will need to download the APP to my iPad. Please confirm. Thank you.

That are en route to MTH from Asia and will be shipping to dealers later this month. If you want to purchase one, I suggest that you get an order in to your dealer pronto.
Charles.

You are correct as regards all of your assumptions!
This and a whole lot more is all in MTH’s “The DCS Companion 3rd Edition", available for purchase from many fine OGR advertisers and forum sponsors, or as an eBook or a printed book at MTH's web store!
I just looked at web site and it says delivery 2 months ago. We're right in the period when MTH, at York, said they'd be arriving at hobby shops to be sold to customers.
They are available, but are few and far between. I do have a question. I was told that if you have more then 1 tiu, as I do I would need a wifi module for each TIU. Is that correct? Thanks, JB

That is correct. I've heard that Super TIU mode isn't available with the free and $5 apps, but we'll see when the WiFi modules hit the streets. Jeff and I have ordered them and will be testing them at the club when we get our hands on them.
The Wifi modules arrive Thursday at MTH, so Santa can have it under your tree for Christmas or on your RR for your holiday pleasure to operate the free app or standard app, premium comes out next year!!!!

Well don't too excited just yet. MTH still has to turn them around. A few days shipping to the dealers, then the dealers have to turn them around. Plus with UPS and Fedex overwhelmed with boxes I personal don't think I'll see mine until after Christmas

That's correct.
Only the Pro version of the app, due out next year, will support Super TIU mode.
Ive been screwing around with our stores demo unit at the store and on the layout. The lack of Super TIU support til the full app is available means I prolly will not be purchasing the units until the full $25 app is available. I cant run the layout with them since all of the locos are associated with the TIU on the turntable

I have a similar issue in my layout design. Looks like I will wait too.
Would really like to know the design limitations are that make a WIU needed for each TIU??? Really the only drawback to what seems a great ad on to the layout.
It is the same design limitation that requires a radio receiver in each TIU to receive the remote signal. I imagine if the TIU's were networked together then only one WUI would be needed.

i agree, the first of the year would be a much more realistic time frame....Jim
Looking forward to running my trains with the app. I had the opportunity to use the app on Marty's layout and I'm looking forward to using it at home.

Not knowing much about Super TIU mode and how it works. I would figure the first TIU would be the master, and every other TIU connected would be a slave? Taking commands from the first TIU. If not I can see your point.
Bill was very helpful when we started beta testing. When Bill first set eyes on the Wi-Fi system, I handed him the iPad and with no problems he figured it out and was operating trains. This is a very user friendly system.
