I recently bought a Mullet River SOO Line caboose kit #403001.  I opened it to find it had no instructions, resin casting sheet for underbody and no brass etchings or brass rods in the kit.  Does anybody have this kit that can tell me what is supposed to be in the kit and possibly send me a copy of the instructions?

Thanks in advance!!!

There's a working link to your caboose's Mullet River website page on the Wayback machine site: https://web.archive.org/web/20...9&products_id=37

Doesn't mention instructions, but brass underframe should be in the box if it was sold as stock, not second-hand.  Wayback machine is amazing (I'm easily amazed these days!) and many links on the page work.  There is a 'Construction' page somewhere there.

Did you buy this from a dealer? All the underbody should have been there a well as instructions. You can try Glenn, send me an Email, or better yet Ron at Des Plains Hobby. I don't know how much Glenn has left and he has had some health issues but hopefully will be at the Chicago show.

Pictures of the brass under frame work of a similar Millet River kit.  The instruction sheets that I have are for the B&O/BR&P Caboose kit No 403027.   (12)   8" X 11" sheets of instruction.  I have two sets of instruction, could mail you one, not quite the same model.   Kits did not include couplers or running gear/trucks.

Link to the photobucket build file.   Click on the underlined phrase to link.

As far as I got with the project.

A bit more detail added.  These are very interesting kits.  Note that I had a rivet embossing tool.

At the time I talked to Glen about the protype I wanted to model, having tool boxes.  He supplied exterior mounted tool boxes.

I talked to Glenn tonight and you have one of the first 15 kits. He used resin castings on those first SOO cabooses and then switched over to etchings. So that part is correct. As far as instructions, he has nothing left on his end. If someone else can get you any caboose instructions you should be good enough to get through the build.

Thanks everybody for your help.  If he used resin for the underbody what did he use for railings, there are no railings, brake staffs or anything with it.

Thanks again,

Ken

Aditional detail was a separate purchase.  I found the invoice  which accounted for additional parts. O scale AB Brake Detail Kit. #409002

Caboose Smoke Jack, Brake lever Set, AB Brake Cylinder, Westinghouse Valve, AB air Tank, Emergency Air valve(2), Brake Clevis(6), .019" Brass Wire (3), .022" Brass wire (2), .033" Brass wire(2) NBW detail (2), Brake Wheel, Ratchet, Pawl (2)  Some of these parts were listed as PSC (Precision Scale), some Grandt, most Mullet River.
