I have been working for several months with Time Warner Cable trying to clear

Up a problem. Where email is being sent using my return address but not from my computer  or by me or with my permission or knowledge..

Their Answer is it is something called SPOOFING a type of spam where my Address book was on Time Warners server and hijacked , at first it started out as get rich quick offers and progressed to links to some pretty nasty stuff.

The way I discovered it is I began to receive undeliverable mail to address I didn’t even know and it progressed to well over 100 per day returned so who know how many were actually delivered.

It has been two weeks now since I have had any reports or returns and time Warner believes they have it stopped.

Again my apologies, and I would hope those that know me and my background would

realize that I would not be sending that type of mail.

I am a member of 2 Model RR forums and have tried to be supportive of them and the respective publications

because I receive so much from them.

This has caused me much grief and rejection that I have pretty much decided to walk away from the online interaction and enjoy the hobby the way I did before, by myself.

Don't feel bad.  My Facebook account was hacked while I was at York.  Facebook notified me of "suspicious activity" and I re-registered my account (which I seldom use in any case).

If anyone saw or received something from me related to a diet that allowed me to lose 18 pounds, you can be quite sure it wasn't legit.  Only in my fondest dreams could I lose 18 pounds.  Ditto for any other Facebook message anyone received from me because I have NEVER sent a Facebook message or notification.

Hi Jim-  I was looking over the OGR article of your layout and I like your building style.  I also enjoy building craftsman kits and scratchbuilt structures.  In an answer to the question you posed in the article about how to detail the coal mining building,  I would start by repainting the plastic and weathering it a bit.  You seem to have a good bit of added detail already, it just needs the plastic look taken off it.  Since you posted, and I was thinking about it last night, I thought I would share.  Good luck with your computer.

William

Thanks for you reply and suggestions, Since last Feburary when the photos were submitted to OGR the layout has had some progress and the mine is one of them,

I have added several  more scratchbuilt additions to it.

I agree it needs more weathering, I really have a hard time taking new things and making them old because all my life I have made old things  look new, I have been active in restoring pre-war autos for a long time.

But I am working on the concept.

Jim......this happened to me as well. Once fixed I have also not had an issue for several months now (knock on wood). Don't give up on your enjoyment on the RR forums that you vist and take part in. Unfortunatly we know live in an age where people are purposely looking to make life miserable for folks and the new technologies make it easy for them to do. Just stay attentive to your online activity and change your passwords on a regular basis.

Don't let the bad guys win!

This is exactly why you should stay a active participant in the forums!

Hi again Jim-  I would paint the green windows.  That is the one thing that struck me as 'plasticky' looking.  They may be a bit bulky looking as well, and toning them down will make them stand out less.  That's a really cool building.  I need to do something creative with a craftsman kit mine that I built and really like, but will need to work into my available space somehow.  I like your work.  Thanks for sharing your talent.

Definitely agree with you on that point, John!  That was the first thing that crossed my mind when I read Jim's initial post.
