Here are a few shots - I **HOPE** this will be the last one for a while   Just got it up last week & have the 2 tracks running off the old ZW until I could complete the wiring & add TMCC/DCS

I decided to go w/ more of a Hi-Rail feel for this one & try to capture the 'Flavor' of the PRR.

I icluded a few spurs along the inner track, 2 on the outside loop & a 2 track yard/interchange track - so the trains have a place to drop stuff off/pick up cars from other parts of the system.  It's 14x6 + the extension on the end for the yard.

I felt like something was missing from the layout - couldn't figure out what it was. Then it hit me - I had already done it on the layout I built for my Uncle - an upper level!

I made mine 34'' x 8' & used my Uncle's old MTH track, since 031 Fastrack isn't out yet. I had to remove a few spurs & I relocated the town to the top level, but I think it worked out better this way

I built the layout on the floor & then hooked up the wires & landscaped it. Once it was done, I lifted it on top of the existing board ( with a little help from the wife!)

Next step is to add the rock wall like I did with my Uncle's

building the upper level - last night -

the upper level all set up - tonight -

The rock wall is made out of ceiling tile that is cut & stacked.  Once i glue it in place, I paint it with a mix of gray, black & tan flat latex paints.  I then add some ground cover - instant rock wall

If you drive on the Interstate just out of Chattanooga (SW) you should see some rock walls that look very similar to yours if memory serves me correctly. I can remember many years ago driving through there and thought it looked like ceiling tile 'rocks' that I'd seen in magazines!

Thanks for the comments everyone. The best part is seeing my daughters face when I run them at night with the lights down. She likes to come up each night before bed and wants me to put on steam engines. The top part was defiantly a great addition as she loves to watch that train that's it goes over the other ones. Let me know the date for the tca show.
