Picked this guy up at my local Menards yesterday. I had ordered it on-line then had it shipped to the local Menards at no cost for shipping. A very nice boxcar for $18 after the rebate.

Looks great and the price is unreal. Your layout looks good, too!!
Enjoy
Nice looking addition. I received my first Menards purchase Saturday. I ordered one each of the Pennsylvania and a B&O cars and the cabinet shop. I love the colors and the size of them, but both cars had to be disassembled and repaired. The coupler on the Penn car was assembled incorrectly and was locked in the open position. To repair the coupler, the truck had to be removed and reinstalled. It will now work, but is inconsistent in locking and takes numerous tries.
The truck was not attached on the B&O car. I did find the loose washer and retaining clip in the boxcar. When I attempted to reattach, the supplied washer made the clip so tight that the truck was hard to rotate. I searched though my parts jars and used a thin washer that solved the problem.
The cabinet shop looks real nice but the jury is still out on the lights because like an idiot, I omitted the power supply from my order and couldn't find one that would work in my supply. I will need to order one, and to make the shipping cost worth while, I will try another boxcar when I do. Maybe the potentially new C&O car that was hinted to these weekend.
The rebate was not an incentive to order these items, and I think I now have a rebate coming that can only be used in the store. That's a long drive from Virginia.
All things considered, I think they're a good deal for the price. But, you may need to send one back occasionally for replacement.

That's a really nice looking car. The price isn't too bad either.

Very nice addition.
Good one, Bill.
Nice purchase! Menards is pumping out some good looking rolling stock.
Yep, I would say Mark the Menards Guy has been busy this year.

John, there's a Menards in Effingham, Ill. It's only a 1-day drive each way. A very interesting store. Picture a Lowes with a grocery section, and double the hardware inventory.
I just got the Studebaker service station from Menards and a few vehicles. Having owned Studebakers, I'm a nut for anything bearing the name.
