Thanks, Bandob.
Don't take this the wrong way, but the setup looks great but this seems like an odd venue for it. If I walked in there (and I have in the past), and I saw a 3-rail setup, the first thing I'd say to myself is, "Cool... but why here?"
p51: Why here? I guess because they asked us several years ago.
At least three museums in the area have asked the National Capital Trackers to set up displays:
National Museum of the Marine Corps, Quantico, VA.
College Park Aviation Museum, College Park, MD.
B&O Railroad Museum, Baltimore, MD.
Other interesting venues: Childrens' Hospital..
This year upcoming at the Armed Forces Retirement Center (Soldiers Home) Washington, DC.
Full show schedule on the club website.
It is an attraction to the museum and something that gives them a few extra $$$, good publicity, and perhaps a new volunteer, donator, etc. The Trackers have quite a following within parenting circles, etc in the area. Museum's see that and think "people to get in the door, pay us admission, etc, and learn about the importance of X".
At the end of the day, it is all about spreading this wonderful hobby and it is a win-win for both the Trackers AND the hosting venue.
WOW, loved the videos you posted earlier; and, now we get terrific photos.
Thanks for taking the time to photograph, edit, and post all that you have from what was a spectacular display.

I get your motivation, but theirs seems odd to me in that 3-rail and USMC history is simply two topics that you never think of at the same time.
Just like I went into an aviation museum years ago on a cross-country trip and found they were having a 'squaredance' day at the museum. I stood at the door, looking at people square dancing in a hangar, saying out loud, "I don't get it..."
It's not bad but it just doesn't seem like a natural fit, that's all.
Wow!!! Two of my favorite things in the world....trains and the USMC!! Thanks for posting BANDOB! I am in the middle of constructing my tribute train to my Uncle who recently passed away. He was a Battalion Commander of 3rd Battalion, 26th Marines in Vietnam. I have acquired all of the tanks, helicopters, trucks and jeeps and I am in the middle of getting the flat cars now. When done I will post some pics that will also truly combine trains and the USMC!
