Need 2 mm marker lights jewels

I've actually used real gemstones* for the purpose since my other hobby is gemsetting but it seems to me that I've seen small colored rhinestones at Michaels.

*small garnets and the like are only worth a few cents.

Both Ebay and Olsens have these for lionel trains. Should work on your MTH.

I bought a few off eBay some time back for a couple of bucks, they should be dirt cheap.

I've used them for years.

I needed some clear/white jewels to replace the red ones in the markers on my Williams brass USRA 4-6-2.  I wanted to keep the lights clear so I didn't bother adding LEDs when I installed PS2.

Anyway, I found a set of different size rhinestones at Michaels Arts & Crafts just down the road.  they're called "Recollections" and come in a bunch of different sizes, faceted and round. 480 pieces for $7 + tax.
