My instruction book says to remove the shell to change the battery but not sure were screws are that hold the shell. Don't see any on the ends. Thanks Don

The screws are underneath. Two in front of each truck and before the pilot. You may have two more holding up the fuel tank as well.

Yes there are 4 screws holding the fuel tank but two extend to hold the shell to the frame.
Remove screws with washer heads. 2 at front and 2 at rear. Do not believe the GP-9 used the fuel tank screws to hold shell on, but if so they are normally washer head and not machine thread. If your remove a fuel tank screw that is machine thread, put it back in and test another. G
thanks guys, you were right there are two with washers on the fuel tank. got the battery out and can now sell my clear body gp-9. don
