I picked these up many moons ago with the idea of painting them up for background scenery. I have no idea where I got them. Each one is stamped with the car model; but no maker. I'm thinking that they could be from P'ville; but that's just a hunch. The Frau suggested a cereal box premium which is also a possibility, although I don't remember them. Then again I missed the metal disks with the RR logos too. I was going to take pictures of each model but the battery died. I have Jaguars red 7 blue, MG yellow, Allard blue, Porsche red & blue, Le Sabre green & blue, T bird green, Corvette green.

Does anyone know who made them and when? Were there others?

gunrunnerJohn,

I looked again and only see the car model name and some single digit numbers.

I also looked at both sides of the wheels. There are some single digit numbers under the front and rear end. What is interesting; looking at two red Porsches one is numbered [1] at the front and [5] at the back while the other one is numbered [2] at the front and [6] at the back.

Bill, You could be on to something; when I seared Renwal on the bay Ione listing had 2 of the models in the lot. however they didn't show the underside of those cars. Others did have a Renwal stamp as you said. They even had a model number.

It does look very similar. But it seems a bit on the large size at 8 ⅜" long.

It could well be from the same maker though.

Good catch Nicole. I did not see that measurement. My Jag is 4 3/8".

Rod, Thanks for Gasoline Alley, I am wading through it now.

Its not Plasticville for sure. Renwal and ACME always marked their vehicles so that leaves them out. They could be Reliable, F&F, or MARX. Just because the car you have doesn't have metal axles, doesn't mean they were not swapped out at some point. Marx used the one piece plastic axles, and sometimes their mark is very difficult to find. More photos of the cars would help.

All, Please do not copy pictures in your replies!

Also, when taking close up pictures, please refer to your camera manual and select the "macro" setting(usually the little "flower" icon) for accurate focusing. Most cameras can get down to two inches or closer with amazing detail used this way.
