Also check the metal flexible angled fingers inside the cable connectors on the AIU and TIU.   While highly unlikely this is the problem, it only takes a few seconds so...

BTW, above photo hijacked from this thread about DIY component-level troubleshooting within the AIU.  I'm assuming this is not the direction you want to go in.

If you are replacing the cable with a generic cable, be sure to get the so-called "reverse" style:

As RJR suggests, if going the repair path contact member GGG.   And if you send it in, please post back and tell us what the problem was.  I'd think service-techs would report the exact repair and/or component(s) replaced.  This would be good info to make available to the OGR community for next time.

I'm just curious … since activation worked with the  jumper as described above, what does this tell me about the viability of the AIU and TIU components I have?

So, I bought a new TIU this week and hooked it up this morning. Bam! Dump and uncouple operations worked flawlessly. Looks like it was a bad TIU.
