Need help with Fastrack figure 8

If you have v.4, you should be able to go to the RRTrack web site and download the latest Fastrack library.

That is an expensive proposition, as you will need the 6" 90 degree crossing in the middle,  with two 1.75" and two 4.5" straight sections(total of eight each) connected to each leg for the basic figure eight.

If you use the 45 degree crossing, you will need to extend each leg of the "X" with a 1.375" fitter piece to equal one 31" curve section, allowing a tight figure 8 with 14 curves inside 35" x 70". 4 fitters is a lot less expensive than 16!

I was looking into this myself.  Might be worth cutting 4 10" straights to make up the "special" lengths.  Not hard to do and works well.  I've done a few and they are an affordable alternative to lots of little pieces.

This would require (4) 2-1/2" custom fitters, made from 4.5" 5" or 10" straights

Same geometry, but cheaper solution than mine.  12.5" off each leg of the "x".

It would be easier to use a 5" section, and custom cut a 7.5" section from a regular 10" section.

This is the smallest Fastrack twice around layout.  It is 4'8" by 3"8".

All full curves are (the new) O31.  The two half-curves are O36.  The two short pieces by the 45deg crossing are the shorter 1 3/8" pieces.  The one at the top is the 1 3/4" piece.

The figure 8 is possible also with the standard tracks.

To represent this in SCARM, one will need to adjust the default tolerance or to to move the small tracks slightly for proper connections. The real tracks will join without problems.

They should in this configuration, it's only .25" off the exact geometry.
