My Legacy LM Big Boy (6-11208) was sitting on the track idling when all the railsounds went dead. Upon examination I found that all functions in the tender (marker lights, backup light, electrocoupler) also were dead. I also have the 6-11207 Legacy LionMaster Pennsy T1, so I coupled that tender to the Bib Boy engine and everything in the T1 tender worked fine. So I know the Big Boy problem is in the tender not the engine.
The Big Boy and T1 tenders both have the same motherboard and RS power board, and each has its own RS 6 board. I first swapped the Big Boy power board into the T1 tender and everything worked fine. So I swapped the Big Boy RS 6 board into the the T1 and it also worked fine. And when I swapped the Big Boy motherboard into the T1 it also worked fine. So all three Big Boy boards are good.
I then put the T1 motherboard, power board and RS board into the Big Boy and everything worked fine for about 30 seconds, then all tender functions died while it was sitting at idle. I am at a loss as to what is wrong. Could the electrocoupler cause this problem? Something else?
Any suggestions welcome. Thanks. John
