Need help with slave F3 unit

Will the slave unit run without the lead A unit on the track?

As suggested above, does the slave take off in reverse with no tether?

Given the circumstances, it's likely a component failure on the slave board.  In which case roll-the-dice and replace the part listed in the above thread, or just contact GGG who can either do component level repair or replace the board.

Stan, yes the trailing A unit will take off by itself when power is applied to the track.  The problem is exactly like someone else described on that other thread.  So it looks like there must be a failed part in the slave a unit.  There is a so called factory authorized MTH repair out here but I have had mixed results with them.  On the other hand it would probably cost too much to ship the whole kabootle to GGG plus repair and ship back.  I will think about it and see what I can do.

Ray, I can test the slave board by itself and repair replace, no need to send the whole train.

I recently did this for a gentleman in Canada.

This is based on the train was running fine, Lead A runs fine by itself, and it was the dynamic short that caused the problem.

So if you can remove the board from the Trail A I can repair.   E-mail is in my profile.   G
