Anyone aware of possible mfgr. of this 26" ep4 or 5. Set up for outside 3rd rail (wheels not insulated). Sides/top appear to be brass construction with ends possibly bronze. Has old look to it. Never seen a drive train with what appears to be chain tensioners. Gearbox appears to be fabricated. Did not come with motors. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance

I believe the engine is a Y-1. This is the engine UP bought when GN dropped the electrics, and made it into the turbine unit for the coal turbine.

Close. It was classified as a W-1. GN only had 2.

That is it. Question becomes who made this kit from back in the day?
Might have been scratch built?
Wow!!!!!!
What a fabulous old model, quite a find, assume it came to you missing it's end B-trucks? Are there any letters or die marks visible on the inside of the car body casting(s)?
I am aware of a cast bronze EP-4 car body castings made in the late forties for the Parmalee & Sturgis EP-3 chassis, however this is quite different. Yea , verily awesome.
