I bought a AA F7 set in B&O to go with my k-line 6 car 15" heavyweight set, the price was WOW. they just arrived and WOW.

now I have a B&O GP9 powered that I was using to pull the 6 car set. I know everyone say's to wire the two motors together, so any one have pictures of this or good directions to follow.

Also, was wondering how easy it was to pull out the insides of the GP9 and install it in the dummy F7. And make it run forwards as a Back to Back.

It probably will work, make sure the height at top of flywheels is same (on your GP9 and F7).

I know it won't work in the Golden Memories F3 as the flywheels are too tall and hit the shell.

I just wired my scale GG1 motors in series, I can't believe how much better it runs. I did a test with my GG1 & the F7, turned my Z1000 all the way up to full power and it never ran 100 mph to jump off the track. With these WBB engine motors wired like this, I feel so much safer with little kids running these trains now knowing that when they turn the dial all the way up (which they always do) it will not become a rocket and blast off the track and hit or hurt one of them.

I did take the shell off of the GP9, but chickened out of doing the switch with the dummy F7. Will take it to allentown and try to trade it for a WBB set of DL&W F7 AA.

I think I have been bitten by the Williams bug, I really like the K.I.S.S. principle. I now know how to slow down these engines and may just give up on command control for 3 rail all together.

DL&W Pete,

No need to give up on command control, Williams trains run great using the DCS from the hand held remote thru TR.  My old Union Pacific, City of San Fran Passenger Train runs smooth as glass on FasTrack, pulling an entier wall length of passenger cars.  It's easy to get hooked on Williams trains, they are all great runners.

Williams originals were great stuff, hope the Williams by Bachmann stuff lives up to the originals, rep.

Everything on the wall just under the K-line big sign are original Williams Trains

I just completed the switch out of making the GP9 a dummy and making the other F7A a powered unit.

test ran it, everything worked fine.

wired the motors in series it went forward and now it's stuck in neutral.

do I need to get a new board from WBB, or is there a fix for this without have to send it back to WBB.

While the re-wiring of the Williams is not that hard to do, I must point out you void the warrenty by re-wiring anything! If Williams by Bachmann determines that you changed something from the factory settings in any way shape or form it will cost you full price to have it repaired by WBB.

Check your wiring as you may have an open wire or a disconnected wire somewhere that is not letting power flow.

FYI: I have never re-wired a Williams engine because in my opion they run just fine, sometimes too slow for me. I took the circuit board out of an older Williams Crown Edition engine and wired in place a 6 amp bridge rectifier and got a 10% power increase. For all my needs I have had to add an extra powered engine with any Williams lash-up, two or three SD-45's pulling about 25 freight cars, also using a postwar ZW transformer with my Williams.
