Hmmm.  I would say he has a little of everything.   He has a lot of new Lionel/MTH freight along with a good selection of used freight.  He has a wall of older Lionel/Marx as well.   Most of his locomotives are used.    I've bought a few of them and I've never had a problem.  He does all of his own repairs so he's able to go over each unit thoroughly before he puts it up for sale.  If I want something they don't have he always manages to find it for me.   I buy 90% of my stuff from Neely's Train Shop and Brady's Train Outlet.

Are you coming into town for business or pleasure?

I'll be in NJ & Pittsburgh this coming Monday for business & was going to take a few days off on the way home & do my annual return to Altoona for some railfanning

Excellent.  I live in the Cresson area.  If you do some railfanning in the area we may cross paths.  I like to hit the Brickyard in Altoona at lunch.   We watch from the platform in Cresson in the evenings....when I'm not running my kids around!   I prefer some of the other railfan locations but Cresson is convenient.

It's just starting to turn.   Still a lot of green.   However; there are pockets of nice colors.  There was some heavy rain that came through last week and knocked some of the leaves off of our trees.

I think I'll be doing it later in the day ( after work) so It will probably be well past closing time. If I get out early enough I'll try to swing by

Enjoy your trip.  If you end up in the Cresson area give me a shout.  It's always nice to meet railfans from around the country.

Thanks.

If you are looking for new MTH items I would go to Brady's Train Outlet.   Neely has some new MTH freight.  However; he has a lot more used Lionel trains compared to his MTH selection.   I go to Neely for all of my used purchases and Brady for anything new that I want to buy from MTH.

Just a note.  Brady has some remodeling going on at his store.  If you don't see something you need let him know.  He has a lot of his stuff stored upstairs until the project is complete.   By they time you come through they will probably be finished.

Driving from Pittsburgh to Altoona there used to be a great train shop in Homer City.  But it closed a few years ago as the owner said he wanted to retire and go fishing!  Who was that guy?

Looks delicious!  You certainly are enjoying your retirement but we still miss your store.

Jim, I only had a train around the Christmas tree when you were operating your shop.  I hadn't moved to the area at that time.  However;  I do believe my dad purchased some trains from you in the past.

I hear folks in these parts talk about your shop often.  I've never heard one negative remark.  All I hear is good things.  You've certainly had a positive impact on the train hobby in Central PA.
