Here is the YouTube video from Demos with Dave. They redesigned the CW-80 and showed off the Legacy Camel Back.

Dave did a nice job on the CW-80. That could become the new goto basic transformer. No more fuse. No more cooling fan. Same design as the bricks. Sounds like it should be a good solid transformer.
The camelbacks look awesome. Adding the opening roof hatch was a nice touch.
I'm guessing they got tired of all the flack that the CW-80 was taking and decided to upgrade it. The Camelbacks are tempting, a very nice upgrade from existing models.

Dave explained changes in getting it approved prompted the redesign.
They announced this replacement well over a year ago. It nice to see they finally got them on the way.
Production cycles for stuff like this are always longer than you expect.
Nice demo by Dave. Great marketing tool. Love the camelback. I never had a desire for one but that just changed.
I was considering the Strasburg Camelback, but then I spotted the Nicholas Smith Strasburg 10-wheeler, and it just seems more natural to be pulling the Strasburg Woodside passenger cars. I might have to have a Reading Camelback if they do that roadname...

You're in luck John. Lionel is doing a Reading Camelback

Well, if they're still around after the BTO rush, I'll probably pick one up.
I have a LionChief+ camelback that I really like and bought it because it is a great value and scale-proportioned. (As far as I know it is the only LC steamer that is--we need more!) This legacy version seems great and, for me, the timing is right. I have some Halloween-themed rolling stock and accessories but no engine, so this will likely be the one. I love the additional details and sounds that were in the demo.
Actually, I believe the LC+ A-5 was also scale sized.
