My interest in new control systems/decoders is based in two aspects, the technology involved and the hobby features it provides. Control technology is become more advanced and quite interesting n some respects. The Hornby system uses a rather unique app user experience. I have seen this somewhat different approach to app format in another U.K. system I tested previously. The popularity of the features included in a particular device is more dependent on a users preference and is more difficult to judge.

For OO/HO, I use the Roco Z21 black with WLANMaus controllers.   The Roco app is ok but not "wow".  The wifi-based controllers were cheap ($89 at the time 2018ish).  I did get a TCS command station.  Haven't used it much, yet.  Tried it at the club where we run NCE.  It swapped in fine with the NCE control bus, except that it didn't support NCE adv consists which was a deal breaker.
