Todd Architectural Models & Layouts is excited to announce their first O scale model railroad kit. The kit has been developed from P.R.R. standard drawings 59325 (Design "A) and 59327 (Design B"). Design "A" is for a clapboard-sided shed with a slate roof and is shown on the photographs below. Johnny Bagadonuts had a late night last night and opted out of getting Design "B" reading for the announcement. Design "B" is for a board and batten-sided shed with a rolled (ready) roof.
The kit features laser scored acrylic plastic and basswood. The kit includes windows and doors, stud walls, outside walls, rafters, trim material, the floor and the foundation. The original shed was designed for a railroad handcar to enter the shed and provision has been made for Atlas O 2-rail track to be used to replicate this feature.
The kit takes me about six hours to complete between painting, glue-up and wait time. The basics: the four sides are edge-glued together, the stud walls peal and stick to the inside of the glued-up box, window/door frames and sashes peal & stick together and are glued on, the rear elevation windows are placed in channel so they can slide, trim is either glue-on or peal & stick, rafters slot into place in the side walls and the roof material is peal & stick onto the substrate.
The kit, in your choice of Design "A" or "B" is offered for $59.99 plus $8.00 shipping. Until we get the point-of-sale website up and running, payments can be made through PayPal or personal check. We are taking pre-orders right now with the schedule to cut and pack the first round of kits this coming weekend.
