To make the backdrop, I found a bunch of old drawings and artwork of buildings from travel posters and comics off the internet. I spliced and photoshopped all of the images together to make the scene. When it was all done, I printed it on a large format plotter and mounted it to a wood frame that I built. I thought about painting the background myself, but it was quicker to print and I had the freedom to make changes as I went.

Nicely done. I've been thinking about doing something similar with a photo I took of a station in my parents' home town. You've given me some encouragement to proceed.
And I really like that little airplane hanging up there.
Well done. Plan on doing something similar, though in parts I'd like to include some of the old Lionel artwork of hillsides from the prewar era.
