Sounds good Firewood! Glad no OH&S reports had to be filed and the Trains are running!
My wiring is not the neatest due the physical limitations and endurance of being underneath the layout. I just ensure splicing is solid and wire is somewhat supported .
The days of running everything 90 degrees and parallel by Code is not required lol
I have been installing a bunch of Weaver telegraph poles which are a dead ringer for the typical ones in use in Canada at the time.
I have cut the height of the poles down in most areas except for obvious clearance when crossing the Right of Way.
I cut the poles to length with side cutter pliers and then stick the end into an old pencil sharpener(like in Grade 1) to get a sharp point.
Then just pick the locations and stab the pole into the foam.
This is one of the most positive benefits of using foam is you can plant trees and telegraph poles ridiculously fast.
Here are a couple of Vids featuring GN S1 Northern #2851 pulling a short passenger train up the sharp Eastbound grade up thru Kicking Yahk Pass
I also have added a shot of the Hotel in place on the layout located beside the gas station
Enjoy your Trains!
Be Safe
