Lionel demo'd the burning house on the Ryan and Dave show.  Meghan, hope I spelled that correctly, showed it operating with simulated fire LEDs and a smoke unit.  The house looked great and with the smoke was impressive.

@Dave Olson if I could make 1 suggestion...  Please put the smoke unit switch on top, under the roof and not under the building.  Lifting the building off a layout is not something most folks want to do.  Since the roof lifts off anyways to fill the smoke unit it seems like a good place.  This way folks don't have to disturb scenery.

Thanks

Aren't these just the MTH ones rebranded?  I have the MTH one and it is great, but I turn it on and off with the LCS system.

I didn't think was a new design by Lionel.

It maybe a MTH design but why keep the switch under it. Move it while you have the chance.

The impression I got from the catalog show is the smoke unit is a new design so there must be some new engineering involved and not everyone uses LCS or a command system to control accessories.  This seems like a no brainer just to relocate the switch.

Yeah you are right, I just watched it.  Same MTH building but they removed the water feature and switched out the smoke unit and added LED's for flickering lights it looks like.   The water feature is one of the coolest parts, too bad they got rid of it.

I agree then, it should be switched right under the roof.  The MTH one had water splashing in there so not a good idea, but on this one with no water, they could move it.

I would get an old MTH one instead, they are always a favorite when people see them.    Check out the video of it at  32:26 if you haven't seen the water feature.  Its the part that people are amazed by (even though its a simple mechanism, haha)

just remove the switch add wire to the control panel then it will not be under the house or the roof

my mth has a switch that is separate

Yes you can do that but this is being sold as Plug and Play.  It needs a switch on the top.  The switch is just not on and off but also is 2 levels of smoke.
