Did anybody notice on last night's Demos With Dave #10 what looked like Superliners on the middle of the table?  I hope I saw that correctly.  It has been forever since Lionel ran them and wouldn't it be great if they were full scale length.

Coming in the 2021  Volume 2 catalog?

The Amtrak Surfliner is one car set I'd really like to have. K-Line did a brilliant job with theirs with full scale length and correct doors. The MTH cars got the color right, but they used regular superliners. Amtrak did place a Superliner within the consist (cafe/coach), then later painted them to match the rest of the consist, so MTH was prophetic in a way.

Couple months ago, I found the K-Line Surfliner cars on ebay. I think it was three to four cars. They wanted about $300 for each car.

Are you referring to these?:

Sharknose Samples

To me, they look like Baldwin Sharknose diesels.

Peter, looking at your blowup, you are probably correct - RATS!  The Lionel Superliners are way overdue.  The old 18" ones were not bad, but the current scale cars will be much better.  I had a set of K Line Superliners but sold them several years ago because K Line never did the Lounge car with its unique window pattern, which to me is the defining car of the series.

But a couple of years ago, I was able to put together a full set of the K Line El Capitan cars, still minus the lounge.  But, I figured the complete set, even without the lounge, is better than not having the set at all!
