That BN/GN F-7 ABBA set is pretty wild. Quite a mish-mash. It may appeal to those who want to replicate the Amtrak Rainbow Era, perhaps.
To those unfamiliar with that, the set would probably just look weird.

I believe there are the old Lionmaster tooling from the TMCC days as most of the LC+2.0 engines are.
i know about the shark set any others ? what about the sd80mac roadnames
any new ho scale stuff
Shark car with moving fin is nifty new use of the walking brakeman mechanism.
I doubt I'm personally interested in getting one, but it is pretty cool. Hope it does well.

Keep in mind that if you go through a good Lionel dealer, prices are usually reduced by a few hundred for the more expensive things.
Could you post pictures of the Blue B&O EM-1?
Did they offer any Baltimore & Ohio liveries in this run?
can someone post the starter sets and lionchief plus 2.0 stuff
and ho stuff
If you can believe catalog art.... four Union Pacific SD70AH engines (8937, 9069, 9088, 9096) each with the headlight in the wrong position. Also, I believe that those 3, 9000 series engines are in real life Tier4.

Does that mean they have the different style can from a normal 70ace? And do they have nose mount headlight or cab mount?

Actually, after looking more carefully, I think in real life the three 9000 series engines Lionel is offering are not Tier 4. The UP Tier 4 engines look like they have 3 fan grills instead of just 2. rrpicturearchives.net lists them as 4TC. I guess that means they are Tier4 Credit engines, not Tier 4 engines. However, the actual pictures of 8937, 9069, 9088, and 9096 show headlights in the nose. Maybe the catalog art is just not accurate.
How many of you have bought the new catalog off of eBay? Of course you paid way too much because you can't wait two weeks or just go to your dealer and get it for free.
ill wait for mine.

They need to charge the big bucks in order to pay for repairing all of the stuff that wasn't done right the first time!
I can wait until the catalog comes out just so I don't have to look at all of these cheap no quality photos so many are posting!

Besides a LC+2 GG-1 and an I-12 caboose, I will consider purchasing this Lionel "shark" starter set, do some kit bashing on the moving shark fin by applying a German "laughing" swordfish decal among other modifications.

LionChief Plus 2.0 Even lists TMCC and LionChief App in description.

Lionel is also including front and rear "ElectroCouplers." In addition to TMCC, fan driven smoke, and "RailSounds," these 0-6-0's are worth consideration with a fair hobby store discount.
Like those 0-6-0 Docksider sets with the disconnect cars and logging cabooses.
Can someone post a picture of the dockside engines?

I second this! Also, what rolling stock is being offered?
Any scale cabooses?

Go pick one up Jim. They are sitting on the counter. You can even post your own photos.

Ah yes.....a sign of the times.......Internet dependence.
Us old pharts will remember the excitement of a road trip...with dad?....to the LHS to pick up that copy of the new catalog. Or it's arrival in the snail-mail......as exciting as the arrival of the Secret Decoder Ring!
But,...Oh Wait!! Those LHS's are essentially gone!.......a 'road trip' now may be a day's journey....or more!
Gee, if only Santa would 'spill the beans' 3 weeks ahead of the official date!...........NOT!
I know, I know......as Red Green sez, 'We're all in this together!'. Nuttin' better to do than scan and post, scan and post, scan and post.
Oh, some of you wanted to know about freight cars?..... There's a doozy selection on a couple pages....sure to create a new psychosis of PTSD.....Post Traumatic Sounds Disorder. It's an assortment of flag-flavors of boxcars featuring the rhythmic hammering of a flat spot on a wheel. Yepper.....Water-boarding has been superseded by sound. And, joy of joys, just NOT like the prototype inspiration, this sound, traveling round and round on your basement oval, will NEVER leave you....or the spouse/kids/pets upstairs!....
Well?.......you asked for it. And it ain't cheap, either.....so you can't turn it off!......waste of your money......right?
really are we already complaining if you don't like it don't buy it simple as for me if money wasn't issue i would love some sound cars anything to put me in element of the high speed heavy freight hauling APWR anyway its really complaining from what i heard that gets posts deleted
For the BN/NP/GN set I would have purchased an ABBA set of NP, an ABBA set of BNs and an ABBA set of Big Sky GNs. Any chance of seeing these done or getting other units made to make a matched set? Waiting so long and really a shame you went with a mish mash combo instead of getting sets prior to the merger.
Make sure you buy a Norfolk southern theater car now, because the set in the catalog has no observation car to finish it off
Any pics of the new docksiders? My LHS doesn't have catalogs yet.
