Hello all, I joined this forum because I set up my Lionel trains from the 1950's. My dad bought them for me when I was about 11years old. The last time I used them was in 1989 when I set them up for my son. Now I have a grandson so I have an excuse to set them up again. My 682 locomotive is running after I took it apart and cleaned it and my GP 9 is running well. I want to set up something more permanent than the 4 X 8 board that I am using now. I look forward to growing in this hobby in my old age and spending time with both my son and grandson. Thanks, Jerry

Welcome to the forum. It doesn't need to be a excuse, I have never really put my trains aside and forgot about them, they use to be out every year for Christmas and when I had the room longer. But given the idea of a grandson for a excuse is as good as it gets lol. The model rail road hobby has drastically changed since you last ran your trains. Sounds like you have two great engines to get back into the hobby with.
Jerry, welcome to the forum. Be sure to post photos of your progress. If you need help with any aspect of model railroading, someone here will have an answer. Probably an opinion too... So ask away. Search is your friend, so use it also.
