My friend just picked this one up and we attempted to run it on Wed. It loaded right into the remote, started up, whistle blows, bell rings, goes forward and reverse but there is no chuffing or crew talk etc. Early on there was an amazing squealing noise when first started moving forward, that sounded unlike anything I have heard before and it sounded like the crew talk was very garbled within that squealing noise. However that noise has now disappeared and there is no chuffing/puffing and you cannot get Freight yard sounds to play, but the bell does start ringing when you push the button to activate FYS. I did two factory resets and one feature reset with no change in performance. The smoke unit and lights work fine. Any ideas on this one? I would believe it will need a reload of the sound file. Any help would be much appreciated.
I also checked the odometer and chronometer and it shows a new engine with less than 1 hr and about 12 miles on it.
