With MTH taking it upon themselves to upgrade the SD60E locomotives- i.e. corrected wheelbase and 2-rail option features- will you be upgrading the SD70 series and SD60 series locos to utilize this same frame, wheelbase and fuel tank? These locomotives need this so much- the current wheelbase on the SD70MAC is not looking real good but the SD60E and the 2-rail option sure makes a difference!

I had hoped that when MTH re-released the SD70MAC (BNSF Executive scheme ) with PS3, that it would be in a scale wheeled version with corrected stuff mentioned above. So I passed as I had and still have many extra engines waiting for conversion to 2 rail.

I also would hope for a new tooled 3/2 truck on the E series as well. I had to get a 3rd Rail version. I will have to install PS when it arrives. I would have preferred an MTH version.

I have ordered many engines and have more coming. I have a F40PH on order and hope it looks good. I know it will run good. I look forward to new offerings from MTH in 2 rail O scale! I'm glad for the improved speakers, better boards, fantastic smoke units, better lighting effects, well detailed GE pilots, etc., that have come recently. I love how well these engines run and hold up. I hope MTH stays with 2 rail offerings for new users. Fantastic value!!

Jeff, no doubt MTH would greatly benefit from upgrading the tooling on the early 70 series.  The SD70MAC is longer than the other SD70 variants so it may not make financial sense.  It's closest in overall length and truck centers to the SD70ACe/M-2.

IIRC, the SD70MAC is roughly 74' end to end whereas the SD70 Spartan cab is roughly 72' and the SD70M's are roughly 73'.  So the truck centers on the SD70MAC are somewhere in the 47-48' range whereas the other two variations would be in 46-47' range.

I'm thinking the SD60E is roughly 71-72' in overall length.
