New MTH CN FA-2 and Alaska Genset running well! Same for new Lionel Wabash Heritage SD70ACE. Great when they run well right out of the box!

I never had a locomotive not run as expected out of the box and that would be well over 100 locos. I have had locos go kaput after many, many hours of operation.
Have an MTH Railking RS 3 that failed right out of the box. It is now on its way back to me for the third time after a DCS pcb failure, 3 volt lighting failure, and a cut wire during the last MTH repair.
I have also been very fortunate that what I have purchased has run out of the box as advertised.
I have a variation on this topic, thanks to the Forum!
Just before the York Meet last October, I purchased from a Forumite a MTH Premier model of the sole surviving Southern Ps-4 - No. 1401 in the Smithsonian. Made in 1994, it ran well with my postwar ZW but not with newer transformers. I was prepared for that. After an exchange of emails, MTH Parts brought a circuit board from a RailKing Ps-4 made in 1997. Wayne Renga of J & W Electronics installed it. Now she runs like a Hamilton watch with newer transformers. I also gained Passenger Station Announcements (PSA). They mention the CRESCENT LIMITED but not the number of the engine so they fit perfectly.
I added white stripes on the pilot and on the leading truck wheels to match the 1401 as she looks now. A previous thread asserted those stripes were painted after she was on display. I like them.
