Hey guys. I have been away most of this month It has been a while since I posted a new video.

This new video highlights the movement of black diamonds (coal) to customers across America. It also showcases the merger between two railroad giants....Burlington Northern and Santa Fe.

The BNSF train is hauling a long string of loaded Lionel "Coal Gondolas" featuring items from the Lionel BNSF Coal Train Set (222210). Motive power is provided by (3) Lionel BNSF SD70MAC's. Two powered and a "Super Bass" unit.

The "empty cars" are from the Lionel Burlington Northern (BN) Coal train Set (6 - 31710). Motive power for this train is the Lionel BN SD70 (provided in the set), a BN SD60 and an Atlas GP35.

Over the years I was able to collect all the "extra" loaded and empty Lionel coal gondolas for both BNSF and BN to have the long consists shown in the video.

I hope you enjoy the video. If so, please leave a "like" and / or a comment. Also, please consider subscribing to my Channel to receive up to date notifications of all my new videos. Thanks!

Donald,

Eating my morning cereal peacefully, then comes your new video. And once again giant creatures roamed the Earth. Your productions keep upping the bar. Right, left, light, heavy a very busy valley.

In particular I appreciate how at the 5-minute mark you panned the layout. Your multiple trains on different levels at varying speeds lend a sense of spatial greatness.

Thank you, I think I'll watch it again ......please pass the milk

Donald, I wish more YouTube video producers would follow your lead. You set a high mark for camera work and production values. You obviously use a tripod, you compose your shots nicely, your pans are smooth and properly composed, and your videos are well edited.

I simply cannot watch the hand-held, vertical video crap which passes for "good" video on YouTube. This is what truly GOOD video should look like.

Well done!

Thanks Kevin. You made me smile. I was not real sure about the “panning part”. My tripod does not have a very fluid rotating head but in the end it worked out. Practice makes perfect.

Hello Rich. High praise from the Master! Thank you.

I do listen to what you have discussed over the years with videos and try my best.

Thanks again for the kind words.

Donald;

A beautiful video of a beautiful layout. What stands out most to me (who can’t take a video if my life depended on it) is you have captured the perfect speeds of the passing trains - absolutely realistic.

THANKS for the kind words, Paul. Much appreciated. Practice makes perfect. Start out small with your videos and work up!

I just submitted a manuscript to Allan Miller for a future article on taking pictures and videos of our layouts using a Smartphone. Stay tuned!

Donald
